Scenes

Change the look on the beat.

Keep up to eight looks on the scene keys. Pick one while the song plays and it comes in on the next beat, gliding over a bar. Pin them to the song and it changes by itself, the same way every time.

Try it

Four scenes, one song.

Press a scene: it waits for the next beat, its key filling as it goes. Or leave them pinned, one every eight bars, and watch the song change them.

Scenes

Pinned: the look changes every eight bars as the song goes by.

How it works

Save, play, pin.

Three keys do most of it: a number to bring a scene back, ⇧ and a number to save one, and M to pin it to the song.

  1. Save a look.

Press ⇧1 to ⇧8, or click an empty scene key. Saving over one says so, with Undo.

  2. Bring it back.

Press 1 to 8. It waits for the next beat, then glides in over a bar, its key filling until it lands.

  3. Pin it to the song.

Press M while the song plays to pin the scene that’s on. Pins sit over the song as small numbers; drag one to move it.

  4. Keep changing it.

Every change goes into the scene that’s on, so it’s there the next time it comes back.

Look ahead.

Rest the pointer on a scene key for a moment and a small preview shows it before you pick it.

Scenes for each layer.

Every layer has its own eight, and eight more hold how the layers sit together.

Scenes on a dial.

In live mode, crossfade between two scenes, sweep through them all, or set the glide from a cut to four bars.

Questions

What does a scene keep?

The picture underneath and every card, with all its settings. Not the song, the volume or the palette.

How many scenes can I have?

Eight for each layer, up to four layers, and eight more for how the layers sit together.

Do pinned scenes play every time?

Yes. Each time the song passes a pin, its scene glides in. Pins are kept with the song file.

Can I change scenes from a MIDI controller?

Yes. In live mode, scene pads bring them back, and a dial can crossfade or sweep through them. Playing live

Do scenes work while listening to Spotify?

Yes, from the keys. Pins need a song file, since they’re kept with it.

Do videos keep the scenes?

Yes. An export plays the pinned scenes as the stage does, and a recording keeps every scene you play. Making a video
