Music video maker

Make the video for your song.

Drop in a song, make the look and pick the part. Arpeggio draws every frame and makes the video in every shape you need at once: a Reel, a post, square and wide. Free, on your Mac.

Every shape, from one stage.

Tick the shapes and pick the part of the song. Each shape is cut from the same picture, so they all match. The file and its size update as you go.

The sizes are the app’s own estimates. Here it takes four seconds and keeps nothing.

How it works

From a song to a video.

File ▸ Export Video ⇧⌘E. The stage shows each shape’s outline first, so you can frame the shot, and the song strip under it holds the part.

  1. Put your song on.

Drop a song on the window or open it from the Finder. A video is made from a song file on your Mac.

  2. Make the look.

Stack effects, start from a Template, and pin scenes to the song so it changes as it goes. Effects · Templates

  3. Pick the part.

Drag the ends along the song strip; they snap from bar to bar. Or pick 0:15, 0:30, 1:00 or the whole song, or double-click for eight bars.

  4. Export.

Tick the shapes and press Export. They’re made together, in the background, while you keep working. Save, share or erase each one.

Every video is 30 or 60 frames a second, and its sound is the song itself, never a recording of your speakers.

Every frame drawn.

Each frame is drawn at its moment, none dropped however heavy the look, as fast as your Mac can draw them.

Or record as you play.

Press ⌘R to keep the stage and the sound as you play them, scenes, blackouts and all, into an .mp4.

Questions

Is there a watermark?

No. The video is yours, at full size, with nothing added.

What size for Instagram Reels and TikTok?

Reel: 1080 × 1920 at 1080p, or 2160 × 3840 at 4K, at 30 or 60 frames a second.

Can I make a Spotify Canvas?

Yes. Tick Reel, choose MP4 at 1080p, and drag the ends of the part to between three and eight seconds.

Can I make a video of a song playing on Spotify?

Exporting needs a song file on your Mac. Listening to another app, you can record the stage as you play it instead.

Does it upload my music?

No. Everything is drawn and saved on your Mac. Videos go to your Movies folder, or wherever you choose.

Is it free?

Yes. Arpeggio is free, with no account, for macOS 14 or later.
