Eleven here, fifteen in the app

Switch on an effect or three.

Each one listens to part of the music: the kick and bass, the vocals, the hats, every hit or every beat. Stack a few and they act on the picture in turn, top to bottom. Four more are only in the Mac app.

  • Flow Warp

    Liquid · listens to low

Pushes the picture through moving liquid, the way you point it.

  • Swirl

    Liquid · listens to low

Twists the picture round a centre you place.

  • Trails

    Time · listens to low

Feeds the last frame back in, so motion leaves a wake.

  • Tile Echo

Grid & slices · listens to mid

Cuts the picture into tiles that gather on a point you drag.

  • Luma Bars

Grid & slices · listens to low

The picture as a grid of shapes, each as big as its cell is bright.

  • Halftone

    Print · listens to hit

Printed dots on light or dark paper, turned to any angle.

  • ASCII

    Print · listens to high

Rebuilt from ten characters, lightest to darkest.

  • Gradient Map

    Liquid · listens to beat

Repaints the picture by brightness in one of four ramps.

  • Glow

Lens & screen · listens to hit

The lights spill over into what’s around them.

  • CRT

Lens & screen · listens to hit

An old screen: bulged glass, split colour, scanlines.

  • Grain

    Print · listens to high

Film grain, mono or in colour.

  • Bloom

Mac app · grows with the song

Poppies grown from the song. They rise and open as it builds, and late on the petals fall.

  • Mycelium

Mac app · grows with the song

Threads that spread from one root, splitting on every hit and fruiting at their tips.

  • Mirror

Mac app · listens to low

Folds the picture round a point, two to eight ways, so any picture is a kaleidoscope.

  • Ripple

Mac app · listens to hit

Drops a stone on every hit. The rings spread out and bend the picture as they go.
